AiTech provides end-to-end coverage to every office location within the continental United States.

What is Multiprotocol Label Switching - MPLS
MPLS is a mechanism in high-performance telecommunications networks that directs data from one network to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses. The labels identify virtual links (paths) between distant networks rather than endpoints. MPLS can encapsulate packets of various network protocols.

MPLS gives you any to any connectivity (no nailed up point to point circuits) plus Class of Service. This architecture results in higher reliability – MPLS is the best solution for fault tolerance.

Voice and video and all other host to host enterprise communication in a PTP network would be routed versus switched and would use 2 legs of network (host A to core and core to host B
simultaneously) utilizing core resources for all traffic.  In an MPLS network, said traffic would be switched directly to the endpoint leaving more bandwidth available for resources located at the core.

MPLS will provide the best round trip time possible for host to host traffic not originating or terminating at the core including sensitive traffic, i.e. voice and video.

MPLS functions at layer 2.5 - PTP at layer 3. MPLS has less overhead uses fewer resources and provides higher available bandwidth.

MPLS has the ability to set the path traffic will take through the network, and the ability to set performance characteristics for a class of traffic. - MPLS allows for dynamic traffic engineering.
